Petals of Africa

I recently added a Blog to the Ngochoni Petals of Africa school’s website. I visited Petals of Africa and stayed at the school for one week in September 2007. This is a school started by Christian Scientists and based upon Mary Kimball Morgan’s educational philosophy outlined in her book Education at Principia. I will be posting updates from the Youth Mission Trip March 12-25, 2009 periodically throughout their visit at Petals. This is an amazing school, and I was so blessed to spend a week in southwest Kenya at Petals. Please visit the Petals website and consider supporting this amazing school.

Ruby’s Provincetown Fine Jewlry

I’ve been working with a team of former co-workers on a site redesign for Ruby’s Provincetown Fine Jewelry. Store owners Mary DeRocco and Ruby Druss are excited to announce the launch of their new website which comes toward the end of their storefront season on Cape Cod, but now allows them to serve their clients better year round.

PrairieNutcracker.com has been launched

Prairie Nutcracker©, a uniquely Kansas adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s traditional Nutcracker has been a holiday tradition in Hutchinson, Kansas since 2000, but it has been under the umbrella of ArtisTree. This year, Prairie Nutcracker Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization was founded and is looking to put Prairie Nutcracker© on the map as a Kansas tourist event. Prairienutcracker.com was launched on August 7.

For the forseeable future, AA Cybersolutions will no longer be operating from a home base of Hutchinson Kansas. While continuing to provide Macintosh software support, Macintosh and Windows application training, web design and development, web site consulting services, and more, these services will mostly be provided over the phone or Internet and not in person. As many of the services I have been providing do not necessarily require in person support, I am still committed to providing the same high level of service my clients have come to expect of AA CyberSolutions.

For the remainder of the year I will be traveling and working abroad, and I will not have daily access to the Internet, so I may not respond immediately to all cases. I do have a few sub-contractors who are willing to handle emergency cases during this time, and someone will answer you depending on the nature of your need. Kristi Lanier’s new website

My friend Kristi Lanier is a great writer based in Seattle, WA. She has also written and lived in Boston and Shanghai. The great thing about the work she does is that she doesn’t have to do the work on site, so she can do writing jobs all over the world. I was quite impressed on my recent visit to Seattle to watch Kristi read a super long report, and pull out the really important stuff for a brochure. She’s recently put together her own website http://kristilanier.com, and I look forward to the day when we can work together on a site where she writes the content and I build the website.

Kristi has another talent that you won’t find in her résumé – she’s quite the organizer. If you have an untidy house or drawers and closets that won’t shut because of the mess of contents spewing out, Kristi can come in and purge the unneccesary contents and make everything tidy and organized. I just might have to have Kristi come help me purge before my next move.

BHS reunion websites

Last year I had my Buhler High School 10-year reunion, and of course I was asked to build the website for our class. As always, time was short, but I got a head start thanks to Irene Soderstrom. She built the website for her class – BHS 1995, so I copied the design of their site. I did spend quite a bit of time rebuilding the back end of the site and cleaning up the code to make it easier to update. Turns out, the time I spent doing that paid off because this year I got an email from the BHS class of 1997 asking me to convert our reunion website for their class. With relatively few changes I had bhs1997.net up and running.
